New videos for the upcoming game show some interesting footage of the game’s combat including some idea of how the epic boss fights will unfold. The game has a remarkable style and art direction that is visible here especially in the brief pre-combat cinematics.

Folklore looks a little like crossed with and as players control one of two characters who use the game’s “folks” as summoned creatures to do the grunt work of fighting foes. A follow-up to Genji, developers Game Republic are promising better controls and an online mode.

Folklore is scheduled for a North American release on October 12.

Metroid Prime 3: Corruption Gameplay Showcases Shooting

GameTrailers.com has footage of the gameplay from upcoming game Metroid Prime 3: Corruption showcasing some of the heavier shooting action compared to previous Prime games. This is apparently a conscious decision by developer Retro Studios. Talking to EGM in their September issue, Senior Producer Bryan Walker said, “In the first two games, we never really concentrated on the shooting. The Wii controller allows the combat to be better, more intuitive, and I feel we could incorporate more of that into the game.”

Metroid Prime 3 is scheduled to be released on August 27.

E3 2007: Halo 3 Single Player Video

As opposed to the other Halo 3 video which was practically nothing but live action, this video is filled with just over two minutes of Halo 3’s single player – and it looks good. Cortana makes a brief appearance, and what looks to be an array of new Covenant dropships, new armor for the Brutes and a lot of other things only Halo fanatics can really appreciate. Nevertheless, give it a watch and keep counting down the days until September 25.
