Nintendo DS Lite now just $99
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Hot Deals, Nintendo, Nintendo DS, Portable/Mobile
Quick update for you mobile gaming fans - the Nintendo DS Lite is now $99. Nintendo announced the price drop today, ahead of next weeks E3. It's a great price for a fantastic portable console, but we have to wonder--does this mean we might see a Nintendo 3DS price drop next week? It's no secret that the sales on Nintendo's new flagship console have been less than stellar.

Pew Study Finds Most Teens Play Games
Posted by Sheila Franklin Categories: MMORPG, PlayStation 3, Wii, Xbox
A recent study by Pew finds that 97% of American teens of the age 12 to 17 play computer, portable, console or online video games. When asked, half of them claimed they played yesterday and the ones who admitted to daily playing say they did so for at least an hour. Here are some of the other statistics:
- 86% of teens play on a console like the Xbox, PlayStation, or Wii.
- 73% play games on a desktop or a laptop computer.
- 60% use a portable gaming device like a Sony PlayStation Portable, a Nintendo DS, or a Game Boy.
- 48% use a cell phone or handheld organizer to play games.
- 80% of teens play five or more different game genres, and 40% play eight or more types.
- Girls play an average of 6 different game genres; boys average 8 different types.
We expect that if Pew queried adults, they would find at least the same statistics, or more for those who play MMORPGs like WOW. As for the good news, another study last September found that, for the most part, teens playing games resulted in positive social action.

Confirmed: Mass Effect for iPhone in development
Posted by Drea Avellan Categories: Action, Adventure, Portable/Mobile, Rumors

Ok, so maybe the Internet doesn’t always lie. Bioware has finally opened up and decided to clear up rumors that came about from an online survey regarding one of their games. Community coordinator Chris Priestly has confirmed that Mass Effect: Jacob’s Story is in fact, a title in development for the iPhone and iPod touch.
The game will revolve around a side-story which focuses on one of the new characters for the upcoming title Mass Effect 2—and not a ‘bridging’ or prequel game as some had speculation. More information for the game will be revealed later this month and my guess is that we will get to see some of this in action at E3.

Posted by Christopher Sasaki Categories: Internet, Xbox 360

Ultra-modder Ben Heckendorn has posted the details of his latest project on his website, the Xbox 360 Laptop. Heckendorn managed to squeeze an Xbox 360, a wifi adapter, hard drive into a case 2.8 inches thick, weighing approximately 14 pounds. Part of the accomplishment includes replacing the standard Xbox 360 cooling with a custom water-cooled solution and including a 720P flat panel display. As usual, his site includes a detailed log of the process behind the design. The final product is easily his slickest looking production yet.
