First Ninja Gaiden 2 Screens!
Posted by Steve Van Neil Categories: Action, Fighting, Screenshots, Xbox 360

Wow, these came out of nowhere. Xbox Japan has posted the first screens of the highly anticipated Xbox 360 action sequel. Things have been so quiet on the game’s development front that some of us were wondering if it was even happening. Well wonder no longer. Judging a game’s graphical finesse on a handful of still shots is always a fool’s errand, but I’ll bite anyway. Ninja Gaiden 2 is looking nice…really nice. The game doesn’t look like a monumental jump technically over Ninja Gaiden Sigma, but then remember the finesse and the still shots and the fool’s errand thing. Itagaki’s latest will surely be a thing of beauty in motion. For now, enjoy this little taste and expect to hear a lot more at this month’s Tokyo Game Show. Oh, and hit the link for the rest of the screens, and gallons of arterial spray.

As with the Microsoft conference before it, I was confined to my hotel Wi-Fi to take in Nintendo’s E3 press conference. But, unlike Microsoft’s, I’m walking away thoroughly and utterly disappointed. I’m going to go ahead and spoil part of the full story from after the break: there was no mention of Smash Bros. being online. Me = worried much.
Set your expectations low before you view the rest after the break.

Virtual Console 5/14 Releases: Pac-Man Is A Ninja, Apparently
Posted by Chris Pereira Categories: Nintendo, Retro, Virtual Console, Wii

Today saw the release of three moderately priced Virtual Console games – Pac-Man, Ninja Gaiden, and Ninja Spirit. I guess the logic was that Pac-Man is like a ninja; evading ghosts without being seen, only to strike when the opportunity (or those corner dots) present themselves. For $5, Pac-Man might be in over his head… which is coincidently his entire body. Pick up the XBLA version (which supports leaderboards and achievements) if you’re really interested in some nostalgia.
The official Nintendo descriptions for each game can be seen after the break.
