Project Natal made an appearance this evening on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, with Fallon and his guests getting to try out the controller-less Xbox 360 add-on. Kudo Tsunado was on hand to show off Project Natal, and just like at E3, he was wearing his huge sunglasses despite being indoors. Jimmy Fallon and crew got to slap balls around, and also played a little Burnout Paradise. Check out the video above.

E3 2009: DiRT 2 impressions
Posted by Drea Avellan Categories: Driving, E3, PlayStation 3, Reviews, Xbox 360, Xbox Live

As a big fan of DiRT and having put in many hours into the game, I was extremely excited to get my hands on the demo at the Microsoft booth at this years E3 2009. DiRT 2 looks and feels like DiRT, but with a kick. Powered by the third generation of the EGO Engine’s racing game technology, DiRT 2 offers tuned-up car-handling and new damage engine effects.
It’s all about details and that’s what makes the difference. Depending on your car, tuning or even what type of road you are on, every vehicle will feel different. Find a car you love? You are able to use your favorite vehicle and tune it with add-ons. With seven vehicle classes and a large collection of officially licensed rally cars and off-roads vehicles, I doubt you will have any problem in finding the best vehicle.

Project Natal FAQ and video
Project Natal blew our minds yesterday during the E3 2009 Xbox Media Briefing. Project Natal is a new method of playing Xbox 360, with no controller required. Instead, it “sees” your entire body, and tracks your movement in 3D, and even responds to voice commands, directions, and even your face. We’ve got a video demo for you above, which you should take a look at, as well as a bunch more info on this exciting product. Read on.

Facebook coming to Xbox 360
In addition to Twitter, Facebook is also coming to the Xbox 360 this fall. You’ll be able to update your Facebook status, browse your news feed, view photos, and more, all from the Xbox 360. Even better? Games can take advantage of Facebook Connect, to publish screenshots and other details directly to your Facebook account, if you so choose. You’ll also be able to send Facebook friend requests to those in your Friends list on Xbox Live, if they’ve linked their Facebook and Xbox Live accounts. Get a look at the Facebook on Xbox 360 screenshots that we’ve put together, so you can get a better idea of how it will all work.

Microsoft Extends Xbox 360 Warranty Due to E74 Error
Posted by Sheila Franklin Categories: Microsoft, Xbox 360
Microsoft has put a warranty extension on Xbox 360s in the U.S. that received E74 errors, which they estimate to have occurred in about 30% of the units. Referred to as the new Red Rings of Death (RRoD), the problem has been attributed to either the AV cable, a burnt out scaler chip or perhaps the GPU. In addition, the company has said that within the next 4 to 12 weeks, it will automatically refund those who previously paid for an E74 repair. If you don’t get one by July 1, head to Customer Support before November for more info and to place a claim.

Halo Wars launches on March 3, demo on February 5 [CORRECTION]
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Microsoft, Release Dates, Strategy, Xbox 360, Xbox Live Marketplace

During the CES 2009 keynote, Microsoft announced that the release date for Halo Wars has been moved up, from March 3rd up to February 28th. In case you’re clueless about what that is, it’s the RTS Halo prequel. Should be fun, despite not being a shooter. Of course, you may want to try it out before committing to purchase, and you’ll be able to do just that when the demo hits the Xbox Live Marketplace on February 5th. That’ll hold you over until Halo 3: ODST launches, right?
UPDATE: We were just contacted by Xbox PR, and were notified that there was some “confusion” during the keynote, and that Halo Wars is actually still slated for release on March 3 in North America. Oh well.
New Xbox Experience is yours November 19
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Microsoft, Xbox 360, Xbox Live

At the Tokyo Game Show, Microsoft finally let everyone in on the date that their current Xbox experience would be ending, and the New Xbox Experience would be, er, beginning. We knew it would be coming in the fall, but the firm date is November 19th. We hope you’re ready to spend hours working on that perfect Avatar, because we are going to so own you in 1 vs. 100, despite having never seen it on television. The New Xbox Experience will go live for all Xbox 360 gamers across the world at the same time - no staggered launch here, folks. We must admit, we’re looking forward to it.
Halo Wars box art unleashed
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Microsoft, Strategy, Xbox 360

Microsoft just hit us with news that they have released the final box art for the upcoming Halo Wars title, and we figured that you would appreciate us filling you in. Here it is, in all its glory. This is done by the same team that did the Halo 2 and Halo 3 artworks. While we don’t yet have a release date for the game, we do know that you should be able to get your hands on Halo Wars in the first half of 2009.
