Xbox Live Helps Recover Stolen Xbox 360
The networking features of the Xbox 360 apparently helped police track down a stolen Xbox 360, according to a news report from KCCI in Des Moines, Iowa. The victim, James Gardner, had his Xbox 360 stolen; fortunately, he had an Xbox Live subscription. Eventually, the Xbox 360 was connected to the Internet and police were able to track the IP address for the user. From there, they traced the system back to the store where it was purchased; the store had an address for the person that traded in the system, and that address was apparently accurate. This let the police track down the alleged thief and recover Gardner’s Xbox 360. West Des Moines police are currently pursuing charges.

hum my xbox 360 was stolen too my sisetr left the door unlock i really miss my xbox 360 is there any way that i can trakci the serial nnumber down or the ip addres or any thing please there has to be somthing ican do except tell the sherifff that it was stolen and hope they find it or somthing????????

well my xbox 360 was stolen if anyone sees an xbox live name TriedScientist call1 317 897 0978 the also stole all 26 of my games my moto razr an both my god of war psp and my silver slim psp all of my moms 1000 rings were gone some of my undees were gone the retards tried to takemy computer but didnt see the moniter cord attached help mee find my 360 plz ;(

well my elite was stolen. along with about 5 games. one was a buddies. they also took my roommates laptop, condoms of all things, and a few of my clothes. i honestly just had to laugh about that. the police are as usual pretty much useless unless they’re arresting drunks or drug dealers. i didnt really lose anything of value besides the elite, but my roommate did lose a bit. though it was his fault anyway. i left at 6 in the morning with a girl i was talking to and i guess he didnt lock the door. i didnt get back till 5 so i cant really say.

My Xbox 360 was stolen from my halls of residence at Uni and I claimed on my <a href=“http://www.gadget-cover.com/pgc.php?ri=33”>portable games console insurance</a> . Unfortunately the thief was never my caught but at least I got to play Guitar Hero the same week

I built anti-theft product for the Xbox 360 to prevent this problem at newpcgadgets.com. It is called the Xbox 360 Security Kit and it places metal plates over the hard drive and console to help prevent theft. It is really popular with students living at dorms.
