Perfect Dark Zero Xbox Live Connection Problems
When we realized that about 90% of the time we try to connect to a multiplayer session over Xbox Live in Perfect Dark Zero, we did some checking. As it turns out, this is not an issue isolated to our network, as plenty of people are experiencing a similar phenomenon. The error message displayed is as follows:
“You have lost connection to the match.”
Ouch. Anyone else having this problem?

Several people are having a similar issue with Quake 4 multiplayer. I think that maybe the XBOX Live for the 360 games might not be fully “finished” yet. I think we are the guinea pigs finding the bugs they need to fix.

Out of every 2 games of Battlefield2MC demo I used to play for the xbox, 1 of them would lag me out with a similar message. It was really quite frustrating.. I remember a time when I was sneaking over to the enemy base to steal a helicopter… right when I did… “Connection error”. Or when I’m about to initiate an artillery strike…
Some form of IP banning maybe? (prominent form of cheating on halo 2)

I have the same problem. It is your router. I am running a dlink di 604. If I disconnect the router I can connect every time. With the router hooked up good luck. It is wide open as far as security goes and still the same problem. It is cerified xbox live compatible. Hmmm guess Ill just keep disconnecting it to play perfect dark.

same problem here guys…take off the router works fine..i’ve been through tech support for what seems like a days worth of time trying to combat this (i’d like to actually use my router for routing..and not having to switch cables around constantly)..but no luck

UPDATE!!!!!!!!!! I tried another router last night and it was only slightly better. It connected to perfect dark games about 50 percent of the time. Better than before but still not acceptable. Then I got an idea. What is the only thing that is different other than the router? I changed out the cable between the router and the modem and bingo. It worked all night last night. Ill repost if it quits working. Interesting though because the cable never posed a problem for vonage or my pc. I have no explanation. In summation the cable fixed it. So try a new cable. It is also set up on the dmz of my router although that didnt help the problem.

I was searching the issue and it appears you would have to forward ports on your router. its ports 88 and 3074

Same problem with a D-Link router. Do we all have D-Link routers?

Okay fellas,
I hope this works for us. i agree with every one saying that they are doing guinea pig problems but also it is your routers NAT (netwok Address translation) Basically your router translates the information and data from other computers and routers. I suggest you test your network connection and have a look at your NAT if it says “strict” thats means its not good at translating the data and leaves data behind that way the messages say “lost connection” if it say “open” or “medium” it another problem i suggests getting a different router or static your ip or hack it! I have BT Voyager 205 and changed to netware! if you don’t understand give me a shout Gamertag on 360 = Pezza Dispenser

I FOUND THE PERMANENT FIX TO THE PROBLEM!!!
All you have to do is connect to your router and open either port UDP3074 or TCP3074. This is a very easy process; all you have to do is connect to your router (usually says the IP adresss of the router on the router itself) and add a custom port (should be under port forwarding) and add one of these ports. Good luck to all of you!
