VIDEO: Nintendo DS Browser and TV Tuner In Action
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Corporate News, Nintendo, Nintendo DS, Screenshots, Wireless
Earlier today, Gear Live reported that the Nintendo DS would be receiving a new Opera-based browser along with a TV tuner. One of our readers just sent us this video, which shows the new browser and TV tuner in action. Do know that the tuner will only be available in Japan due to the type of broadcast signal it picks up. The browser takes advantage of the dual screen of the DS, giving a full perspective of the web page it visiting on the bottom screen, with a draggable magnifying area that allows you to take a closer look at any section, which is then displayed on the top screen. The video, playable above, is in Japanese.
(Thanks Phil!)

That was a very cool video of the Nintendo DS and company president Satoru Iwata. I had the pleasure to meet him, along with Shigeru Miyamoto, George Harrison, and Peter Main to name a few, in 2003 and 2005 at E3. They were all very kind and took time out of their busy schedules to speak with me so I greatly appreciate it. Thank you Nintendo and thank you to the people at this site for putting up this video.

On a side note, I’ll be going to Japan this October to compete in the World Martial Arts championship and it’d be terrific if I could visit Nintendo of Japan’s headquarters. Cross your fingers!

Yes, the DS does rule.
You are correct, DS rocks. Handheld gaming platforms should be on pure gaming, not compromised gaming because of extra features. (actually that goes for all platforms, and note that the PS2 does a good job at good gaming and extra features)

ya ps2 is nice but sony copies everything from nintendo. their lucky nintendo is nice and just gets flattered by it. I’d be mad. Its going to be really obvious when the ps3’s motion sensitive controller is shown. now theres no way that was some accidentl.
